An Unforgettable Lesson to Learn from Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Unforgettable Lesson

I’m sure you’re familiar with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is an Austrian-American actor, bodybuilder, and former politician. He gained worldwide fame as a bodybuilder, becoming Mr. Olympia multiple times. Later, he transitioned to a successful acting career with iconic roles in films like “The Terminator” series. Schwarzenegger also served as the Governor of California from 2003 to 2011, making a notable foray into politics. He is widely recognized for his accomplishments in various fields and is a cultural and entertainment icon.

However, what is truly impressive about him goes beyond his consecutive successes and achievements. What impresses me most about him is his mindset. When he moved to the United States, he could hardly speak English. Yet, even at that time, he had made his decision and knew what he wanted to do and become. He had three primary goals:

  1. Becoming the highest-paid actor in the world
  2. Becoming the governor of California
  3. Marrying into the Kennedy family

These are dreams that anyone can have, but the difference here is that Arnold didn’t just have them as dreams. When he talked about them, he didn’t say, “I’d like to become the highest-paid actor in the world.” He said, “I am going to become the highest-paid actor in the world.”

There is a significant difference here. Those who say, “I want to become…” or “I’d like to become…” or even “I’d love to become…” are not serious enough. They merely wish for it. It’s just a desire that anyone can have. If you happen to meet them after several years or decades and ask, “Did you become what you wanted to be?” they would respond, “No, I did my best, but I couldn’t because there was a lot of competition, I didn’t have enough money, my mother got sick, my father passed away, I had an accident and broke my leg, etc.”

If you truly want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse. —Jim Rohn

A few days ago, I published a short article about giving our best: Please Stop Doing Your Best!!!

Some people misunderstood and took it personally, thinking I was referring to The LuckScout Community members. However, I really wasn’t. It was simply an inspirational post for everyone, including myself. Some others didn’t understand what I meant when I said, “Don’t do your best. Just do it.” Now, it’s time to know what I really meant:

Arnold never said, “I would do my best to become the highest-paid actor in the world, the governor of California, and to marry into the Kennedy family.” Instead, he declared, “I am going to become the highest-paid actor in the world, …”

And he truly accomplished all of them…

This illustrates the distinction between those who merely aspire to do something or aim to do their best, and those who actually achieve it:

Everyone aspires to become wealthy or achieve financial freedom, but only a small fraction of people truly commit to this pursuit. Many start on the path, only to be lured by other interests and change their goals. In 2002, when I began my journey in the online world, I joined my first affiliate program, which continues to operate to this day. As a newcomer to online business, affiliate marketing provided the quickest and easiest way to start generating income, even though I soon grew disillusioned with affiliate programs and contemplated creating my own systems.

Within a year, I managed to recruit approximately 25,000 affiliates into that program, and I endeavored to teach each of them to replicate my success. However, how many of them were able to duplicate my results? None. They couldn’t execute it as I did. Only a few could set up a website and refer others. While they started making money, they never fully realized the potential, despite their strong desire to amass wealth and their genuine need for it.

In this world, nothing comes for free. Even if an opportunity doesn’t require payment, one must exert considerable effort not to squander it and maximize its potential, or else the opportunity will yield no benefits.

Either I find a way, or build a way, but I do it definitely and at whatever it takes.

We achieve our goals, not immediately, but slowly and surely!
