From Bullets to Benefits: What People Could Have If We Didn’t Spend So Much on Defense

The US Army, along with their weapons and power, has protected many defenseless people around the world against brutal invaders. For example, if it weren’t for the US support and participation in World War II, Hitler might have destroyed the world, and we might not exist or be where we currently are today. Who knows how our lives would have turned out? The US’s expenditure of billions on developing strong weapons and maintaining a powerful army is necessary because there are constant, horrible threats. They have to do it. But what if there were no threats and countries didn’t have to spend so much money on weapons?

We are living in the artificial intelligence era, yet we still have to spend money to defend our countries. This money could be better spent on providing education, healthcare, and a more comfortable life for everyone. Why is technology advancing rapidly, but most human mindsets remain the same as they were thousands of years ago, when people used to invade other nations and countries?

The video below shows something that most people don’t know. It reveals the horrible cost of using some weapons, which are still not the most expensive ones. It doesn’t discuss the costs of building and mass-producing these weapons, nor the other, even more expensive and costly, weapons:

Building a modern aircraft carrier can cost upwards of $13 billion, as seen with the USS Gerald R. Ford, the most expensive ever constructed. Operating such a vessel, including maintenance, personnel, and fuel, can add an additional $6.5 million per day while at sea.

The F-35 fighter jet has an initial development and production cost of around $78 million per unit. Operating an F-35 costs about $44,000 per flight hour, factoring in maintenance, fuel, and support.

Can you imagine if people didn’t have to spend this money on weapons and used it for their lives instead? Shouldn’t we focus more on improving humanity while working on developing higher and more advanced technology? Surely the day will come when technology and AI will take care of everything for us, from work and daily tasks to transportation. But, obviously, we still have to spend even more money to develop more advanced weapons, simply because some people aren’t content with what they have. They don’t want to live within their own boundaries and are always thinking and planning about invading others.

It doesn’t make sense. On one hand, humans think they are far ahead of those who lived thousands of years ago because of their technology. On the other hand, they still do many of the same foolish things those living thousands of years ago did, like invading other countries and making others’ lives miserable, just to make their own lives a little better. And even then, they never truly achieve this because if they win one invasion, they lose all they gained in another.

So, the threat is still here. Some people are talking about a third world war and using nuclear weapons. Some religions are talking about dominating the world. These things won’t change unless every human changes their mindset along with the technological improvements in their lives. Upgrading humanity to a higher level of consciousness and mindset is the only solution. Fortunately, there are some people around the world who are ahead of their time and the crowd’s mindset. They are working on upgrading humanity. This is what we are doing at LuckScout too. When you help people have better lives and they also help other humans do the same, humanity grows, and threats become weaker and less effective. Let’s persist in these efforts. Humanity greatly requires them.
