No One Has to Pay Taxes Anymore, If…

Warren Buffett has always captivated my attention for many reasons. I admire his actions and demeanor, consistently astounded by his wisdom. He is a legend and a hero, both in business and in his personal life and conduct. I have some articles about him on this site that I highly recommend you read:

Recently, he has said something that has shocked the world. Before I reveal what he said, in case you’re unfamiliar, I must explain that Warren Buffett is one of the most successful investors in history, renowned for his value investing approach and leadership of Berkshire Hathaway, a multinational conglomerate holding company. He’s often referred to as the “Oracle of Omaha” for his exceptional ability to identify undervalued stocks and make lucrative long-term investments. Buffett’s business acumen, philanthropy, and folksy wisdom have made him a revered figure in both the financial world and popular culture.

Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, paid a 21% tax rate, contributing $5 billion to the government last year. He argues that if 800 other companies did the same, no other person in the United States would have to pay a dime of federal taxes, income taxes, social security taxes, state taxes, etc.:

Does he mean that those 800 companies are not paying their taxes as they should? Yes, he does. He is aware of it because he knows those companies very well.

Does it mean that these companies and their super-rich founders and owners are stealing from people? Yes, it does, because people are paying the money that those companies should have paid to the government but they aren’t.

This issue is not specific to the United States, a country known for its strong regulations and economic health. Yet, such significant ongoing fraud exists here. Not to mention other countries, many of which are notorious for corruption.

Will this injustice eventually end?

I don’t think so. I don’t even see any light at the end of this tunnel. It has always been and will always be like this, unless humanity evolves and supports one another. We should start with ourselves. Each individual must strive for financial freedom and assist others in doing the same. That’s the only solution. This is what we are doing at LuckScout.
