What did you believe for way too long as a child?
I believed in Santa Clause until I was 12. My mother and father may they both rest in peace. Let me believe that lie until I was 12 and the reason I was told the truth was because I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited thinking, I was going to get to see Santa Clause. Because we had a wood burning fireplace it was lit up flames were burning high. So I asked my mama I said mama how is Santa Clause going to get down the chimney I said shouldn’t you put the fire out so he can come down the chimney. It was then that my mama told the truth she said baby there is no Santa Clause. She said me and your daddy brought the gifts and wrapped them. I was so devastated at that moment. I promised myself that I would never do that to my kids, and I didn’t I told them the truth. I’m interested in knowing your story. What did you believe for way too long as a child? Please give details.
As a child I believed in Santa until I was around 9 and my feeling were so really hurt when I found out about the big lie.
One of the biggest lie ever told to a child.
As a child I had been told by teachers and some family members that life was something you had no control over.I don’t know when I started being influenced into knowing that that was not true, but I never ignored it after that.It wasn’t until I was almost a month away from finishing school, that I started to see that it was a lie.I thought to myself that a person, especially an adult has the right to decide what they want in life and what they don’t.I may have learned that it was a tactic to control other people’s lives, and even now, with all the enlightenment and awareness, folks are still peddling that control.
That is so true Myriam. I think that it’s not right that adults take advantage of children because they are nieve they lie to them and that’s just wrong. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you for your comment.I saw that and like is said,I took heed not to follow that control.
