While I was in the workforce, I did not use my paid leave. One of the reasons why is because all unused paid leave was converted to money upon retirement. I had a little over 2500 paid hours that was converted to my hourly pay. That was real sweet! PTO or any paid leave should be treated like money in the bank.
That was sweet.
