You can’t accidentally send a text to anybody you have to search for their name before you send them anything. The answer to the question is no
When in doubt you are supposed to take a second look just to make sure you are sending to the correct person. In fact, it’s something you should do anyway to prevent that from occurring.
Sending the text to the ex is more likely for me since I use a different phone and email for work.
