Forget is already a termed negative. So better we always use the term, remember is a positive word.

I always remember where I’m coming from, from my father before me, and his father before he and his father before his, from his father who was a slave owned by the Beckford House, one of the biggest slave owners in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Ohh, yes I remember my mother and her mother before her my granny and her mother before her and her mother before her in Africa, who was an ex slave because she married a Scottish slave owner who give her freedom, and lived a good life in Africa. We are not  exactly sure of the location in Africa they lived but we know is somewhere in Ghana. Living as a free woman and we know we have family living there as free Africans. Yes I remember part of my family history.
