I must say that I’m content in the present.
Not because I haven’t possessed the urge several times to rewind and change some things from back then, but because I had a particular thought.
Now, if I were able to go back to change a few things in my past along with the ability to immensely fast forward back to my current present situation, I more than likely would not hesitate.
However, it must be considered that by altering things from the past would perhaps change the way things are for the future which would be lead up to today.
I believe we as humans become so indulged in a specific thought that we don’t leave enough room for other possibilities. Sure, we could claim that had we just did this or that different in the past, we would’ve been better off, especially in regards to financial freedom, today than we are now.
That’s a whole lot easier said, and can never be done by our attempting to do so. We really have no way of knowing what our future would’ve been today. Especially when we only own the ability to merely speculate.
I could say something like had I gone to college for “XYZ” back then, I would’ve been making “XYZ” amounts of dollars today. Again, easy said.
I’m content in the present because I’m alive and grateful to be. My issue with altering things in my past is that I could’ve made a decision that could’ve costed me my life, even if I were doing everything to the best of my abilities and nothing less.
I can’t claim that I would be alive today. I could very well been well off after graduating from college and secured in a specific career making, for example, $100,000/year, making hefty deposits to my savings from extra cash bonuses, or whatnot.
But, what if I’d made those great decisions, and just so happens I was on my way to the bank after work to make a deposit after receiving a hefty cash bonus along with a promotion. I’m sitting in the drive thru and pulling up to the teller to make my drop-off.
In all hopes that Almighty God forbids something of this nature happening similar however near in the future or however far out, I’m robbed at gunpoint. Shot and killed dead. At that very particular moment there is no future ahead of me, and of course, I would have no way of knowing that because I wouldn’t be alive today.
The manner in which we utilize our vocabulary is one of the most important things we should be most careful and thoughtful when we speak and express ourselves. Although that has come to my realization recently within the past few years of so, I’m thankful that it has. So from now on, I’ll do my best to appropriate my words and expressions and use words such as probably, possibly, more than likely, and most likely more often when the situation proves proper.
There are just some things we will or could ever be in the know of. What I do know is again, I’m alive. I wouldn’t change anything about my past because whatever went on back then has gotten me to this point to where I am alive and breathing this very day!
I wouldn’t want to go back and change anything because it has already happened. Best leave the pass in the pass. I prefer to stay in the present and see what the future holds for me. Its always best to move forward.
If I could take what I know now in life and go back in time I definitely would.
I feel I can turn back time and sort out my financial needs.
I wish I could go back and save more money and invest for my future.
It’s never too late Toni. You can still accomplish your dreams now.
Sometimes yes, I would like to go back but only to correct some mistakes I feel I made other than that I am content to be here in the present.
I feel the same. Hind-sight is 20/20 and it would be nice to have the wisdom back then that we do when we are older.

I like your thinking! Smart not to dwell on things we cannot change.
