Popcorn is much healthier than many snacks such as potato chips, cookies, pies, etc. Eaten plain, it doesn’t have a lot of fat and calories but when you start adding butter, salt, caramel or other things it isn’t as healthy as it contains more sodium, fat, calories, etc.
You’re welcome Hillary have a fantastic day
Popcorn is healthy depending on how it’s prepared.
Preparation matters. Thank you Mitzi.
You’re welcome
Yes popcorn is very healthy for the body. Actually popcorn is how I first started my catering business Caramel kettle corn!!
Thank you, for your comment David.
Popcorn can actually be a pretty healthy snack, depending on how it’s prepared!
If you air-pop it and skip a lot of butter and salt, it’s high in fiber and low in calories, which can make it a good option for a healthy snack. It’s also a whole grain, which means it provides some nutritional benefits.
However, when you start adding a lot of butter, oil, or sugary toppings (like caramel), it can turn into a more indulgent snack, packing in extra calories, fat, and sugar. The type of popcorn you buy (like pre-bagged, microwave popcorn) can also sometimes contain added artificial flavors or preservatives.
So, it can be healthy in moderation if you go for the air-popped kind or use minimal toppings.
Popcorn is lovely and healthy if you make it yourself 😋 You don’t have to add sugar! There are other options to flavour it.
Have only tasted the salted one.
