I’m not too sure about other countries, but in the UK and America the police kill Innocent black people for no reason. Yes but I never we never me and my friends see ourselves as victims because we fight back against the Racist. Its was very bad in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s, the 90’s was I good time because white people used to join with we black people and together fight against the Racist. The 90’s is when black and white used to mix together. Racist still exist today but they have to deal with their own people who is against it and who would fight them. Thank you Jacqueline for your concern!!! But in the 70’s I used to love a good old fight with the Racist. I guess we all did me and my friends a big Battle on the streets of London.
I’d have to say like 9 years ago when I met my husband’s family.
I take it your husband is of another ethnicity. I’m sorry that you had to experience that hope things got better for you thank you for sharing Teresa
No, just they thought I wasn’t any good, which growing up no one’s mother thought I was good enough. They always thought I was bad news which was never the case, but that’s okay his family got to know me and they love me and have always treated me instantly like part of the family after I finally warmed up to them.
I’m Black and I have experience many Racist attacks and so many other form of racist issues throughout my life, from school to implement. Getting stop by the police for no reason and Ext Ext
Sorry David you had to go through those experiences and it sad that racist still exist just crazy thank you for sharing
I’m gay. I’ve had countless experiences throughout my life of people prejudging my character or expecting certain actions or behaviours based on that alone.
I don’t consider myself a victim of anything though, it’s never something that’s caused me much bother!
I think, in the barest truth, we all stereotype people. There can be undeniable truths in stereotypes. Many stereotypes about lesbians don’t apply to me in the slightest, but of course some do! I’m not going to to take offence 😊
The reason I believe that people have done that to you is because they don’t understand the way you think and also most people are raised to not only believe but also, they see a man and a woman that is straight and that to them is the norm anything outside of that is hard to comprehend. I hope I have not offended you Cheryl and thank you for sharing.
Taking offence at peoples opinions is below me 🙂
I don’t think that’s an issue of stereotypes but a different one entirely.
Being gay has been normalised almost to a fault in the UK.
People expect us to have short hair, like doc Martin boots and cheque shirts, be feminist, be left wing, move quickly into serious relationships, have aggressive natures, own a cat…
But they expect that because plenty of “stereotypical” gay women are like that!
