YES, one lie could easily be a seed that destroys a marriage. Once doubt or deception is created it is hard not to question everything being said or done. That is human nature. And this lack of trust will doom any relationship whether it be in a friendship or marriage. Even though forgiven, it will not be forgotten.
Carole, I couldnt agree with you more. Once that trust is broken, things just never go back to the way it was. Even if you learn to trust again, its hard not to sit back and have doubts.

Like Maria said, when you’re in the habit of complete honesty in marriage, it blossom.
Yet, a single lie shouldn’t break it apart, if the partner is sincerely remorseful and repentant, there should be a place for forgiveness and kind counsel
