What is the Difference Between Like and Love?

I like my friends and want them to be happy. With love I think you feel a deeper emotional connection, share thoughts and secrets you may not share with friends, and feel that person is someone who respects, trusts, and puts your happiness first and vice versa. When you love someone (especially romantic love) you crave their presence, with those you just like, not so much or as frequently.

The difference between like and love is depth and intensity. Liking is appreciation, you enjoy something or someone, but there’s still a level of detachment. Love, on the other hand, runs deeper. It’s a connection that goes beyond enjoyment. It carries commitment, care, and a willingness to stay through both the good and the difficult.

I think you can like something without really loving it. Where is love is a deeper and genuine feeling. Hope it makes sense.

To like someone is saying you can tolerate them to love someone you would lay down your life for them.

I think that like are things that make you happy, where love is more of a soul connection.
