Great choice, LaShawnda. I like both languages too. I’ve been thinking about learning Spanish. It’s getting more and more popular. I understand a bit because I know the basics of Portuguese. But let’s be honest, learning a language is one thing, and actually using it regularly to practice and improve – that’s a whole different story! I believe that if you had more contact with German, you’d remember everything your aunt taught you.
Absolutely! I love how you put it -God’s creation is truly wonderfully diverse. Every language and culture adds something rich and meaningful. It’s so beautiful that your husband speaks Yoruba; even weaving it into daily life now can spark your children’s interest. And you’re right about Spanish – it’s becoming incredibly useful in many parts of the world.
l can speak French & English, my dad is Jamaican and they have a broken English talk, which l understand, but can’t talk.
That’s very cool! My husband is Yoruba and speaks English Yoruba and like you all they have a broken English talk that I can’t remember the name right now for some reason lol
I speak English, Polish, basic Portuguese and German, although I rarely use the latter two languages and will probably soon forget even what I know 🙈
Very cool! I would love to speak Spanish fluently (I can understand a bit) and German. My mom’s half-sister is German and she taught me a few words but I can’t even remember them right now. Other than Tante and Onkel lol
Unfortunately I only speak English, but because I work closely with the Chinese manufacturers I’m learning to speak Chinese!!
That’s really cool!

I totally agree with you! Learning and actually practicing it are two different things! My husband speaks his native Nigerian language of the Yoruba tribe. I wish he taught our kids when they were younger but it’s never too late. I do believe being able to speak Spanish is becoming more important to know in a lot of places! I think it’s simply amazing the diversity God created!
