What advice would you give to a teen who is getting ready to leave home, for the first time, to go to college or they’re going to be out on their own?
I would advice any teen to be careful who they hang around and associate with. I would tell them to focus on what you’re there for and don’t get distracted with partying, etc.
My advice would be to try and stay focus on what their goals are. Focusing on whether its their studies in school or being responsible as they journey out into the world on their own. Whenever they are out amongst other people/friends to watch their drink, whether it’s water or whatever. To never leave their drink unattended and return to it and drink it. Sometimes mean, evil people may smile in your face and distract them, then drop something in their drink that could harm them for the rest of their lives. I have an old saying, “Trust no one” All smiling faces are not always smiling! So, in other words to watch the company they keep. Learn how to budget their money would be the last thing I would try to get through to them.
