I’d rather have my first child when I’m older, around 30 or so—but if I had to choose strictly between 18 or 50, I’d pick 50.
Why?
By 50, I’d likely be more emotionally and financially stable, with more life experience to offer as a parent. Having a child at 18 would mean growing up together—which has its beauty—but it would also bring major challenges in terms of stability, career, and personal readiness.
That said, both ages come with significant trade-offs, and there’s no universally perfect time—it’s deeply personal.
18 is to young and 50 is to late for first child

I would definitely choose 18 because 50 is way too old to have a baby.

You’re welcome
Definitely 18 ain’t no way I would be able to bare labor pains at 50

Jacqueline, that is a super easy question for me. If my two choices were 18 or 50, I pick 18❗
I am older than 50 right now and have one grandchild three days a week and it’s pretty darn busy. He is only 5.
I bet he’s running rings around you lol so full of energy thanks Rhonda for sharing your comment
I’d rather have my first child at 30. At 18, I’d still be growing and chasing goals. By 30, I’d be more stable, mature, and ready for parenthood.

I was 20 when I had my first child and 27 when I had my second child and 41 when I had my third child… So my own personal experience it’s a lot easier to physically keep up with children at an early age than in your later years

18 is too early, 50 is too late. But if I were a woman I would at 18.

At 50? That’s very old for a first child, 18? At that aga still a baby!!
I agree would have said the same thing thanks David for sharing your comment
None. Bad ages to have children. But I am speaking for myself as I know my own situation better than anyone else and having children at 50 would not be ideal for me. I did not have children at 18 because it would have been bad back then as well, lol. Sometime in between would have been ideal but it didn’t happen.
I know the question was specific with the age, but I think well I look at it like this that it is asking would you have children young or wait until you are older you know more mature and not just mentally but also financially prepared for children anyway thank you Alexander for sharing your comment
