On average, the Moon is about 238,855 miles (384,400 kilometers) away from Earth.
That’s roughly the same as taking 30 Earths lined up side-by-side — or a little more than 9 trips around the Earth’s equator. It’s pretty far, but still close enough to light up our night sky and influence the tides! 🌕✨
Fun fact: The Moon is slowly drifting away from us at about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) per year.
