Yes I do!! I’ve had dozens of dogs (all my fur babies 🥰) over the years and I swear I could actually see them smile at times. You can tell by their actions when they’re excited and happy, and when they’re sad, for instance when a litter mate passes. Dogs are truly man’s best friend 😊
You’re welcome Phyllis ☺️
Yes, I think they do.

Phyllis you are welcome. Thanks!
Yes, animals do experience happiness. Scientists have observed that many animals show emotions similar to ours dogs wag their tails and jump when they’re excited, cats purr when content, and elephants or dolphins play and show affection. Their brains release “feel-good” chemicals like ours do, such as dopamine and oxytocin. This suggests animals can feel joy, comfort, and even love, especially when they are safe, cared for, and socializing with others.

You can see it in their behavior: dogs wagging their tails and doing “zoomies,” cats purring and kneading, elephants rumbling softly while greeting family, dolphins playing just for the joy of it. Neuroscience backs it up too — many animals have similar brain chemistry to humans when it comes to pleasure and bonding (like dopamine and oxytocin).
Of course, their happiness might not look exactly like ours. It’s probably simpler — more about comfort, play, safety, companionship, and fulfilling instincts.
Great points! Thank you so much for sharing and for your participation!
I have seen that more in dogs.Especially with their smiles and activities and excitement about the environment they happen to be in.
