I think it is. I Home educate mine. My youngest daughter got recently got her law degree after being home educated the majority of her childhood. She plans to be a prosecution lawyer. My other daughter worked in a day care centre and was offered the assistant manager’s job before she went to medical school. Sadly she can’t pursue it due to health problems she developed, but she got really good grades despite only doing a year of school to get her GCSE’s prior to doing further education. I’ve got another daughter that’s a talented artist and planning to get a studio going, and one that is a millionaire due to who she partnered with. My 18 year old son is in college studying performing arts as he wants to work in television. He only did his reception year in nursery school and after that was home educated the rest of his childhood. My youngest is only 6 and I started all over again with him when he turned 5. No idea what he will do with his life but I do know a child doesn’t need 6 or 7 hours of school a day to become successful. I think it’s set up that way so that parents can work more easily.
No, education isn’t a scam—but it’s not one-size-fits-all.
Personally, I see school as a tool, not a guarantee. It provides structure, knowledge, and opportunities, but its value depends on how it’s used, the skills you build, and how you apply learning in real life. Education works best when combined with critical thinking, practical skills, and personal growth—not just certificates.
