Our Promise
LuckScout Reviews exists to protect the public and protect businesses from extortion-style review manipulation. We do not sell “protection”, we do not charge businesses to defend themselves, and we do not hide criticism behind a paywall.
1) No Pay-to-Defend. Ever.
If a review platform makes money when a business is under attack, the platform has a conflict of interest. LuckScout Reviews is built specifically to avoid that model.
- No subscriptions required to respond or dispute.
- No “premium” package to remove or suppress criticism.
- No hostage situation where reputation becomes a yearly bill.
2) Transparency Over Manipulation
Reviews are visible, and we clearly label trust signals. Instead of quietly hiding content, we use a fair trust model:
- Verified reviews (email confirmed, and later: proof-based signals) carry more weight.
- Unverified reviews can be shown for transparency, but carry lower weight.
- Abusive patterns (spam bursts, duplicate content, brigading) are down-weighted or shadowed.
3) Free Dispute Workflow
If a business believes a review is false or malicious, it can open a dispute for free. The reviewer is invited to confirm their review. If they do not confirm, the review may remain visible but its impact is reduced until verified.
4) Abuse Resistance (Shadow-Banning)
When automated signals indicate coordinated abuse, suspicious reviews may be shadowed:
- They stay in the system for audit and fairness.
- They are excluded from public scoring and visibility.
- Business owners can still see them in “owner mode”.
5) Community Signals (Helpful Votes)
Readers can vote reviews as helpful or not helpful. This improves ranking and adds a natural layer of community quality control without requiring accounts.
6) Ethics & Accountability
LuckScout Reviews is designed to serve the public interest. If you see abuse, report it. If you own a business, you can dispute and reply for free. If you wrote a review, you can verify and confirm it easily.
