I forgive and still put it in mind
I’m sure you put it in mind in other for you to guide yourself
I forgive and forget because that’s where the healing is.
Exactly, when you forgive, you feel lighter
FORGIVING IS PART OF THE HEALING PROCESS, SO I RECOMMEND FORGIVING, NOT FOR THEM BUT FOR YOURSELF. TO MOVE ON FROM THE SITUATION, YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE. EVERY SITUATION DOESN’T REQUIRE A CONVERSATION WITH THE OTHER PERSON, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR BOUNDARIES ARE ALREADY SET AND IT’S A REPEATED ACT THAT KEEPS HAPPENING. IN LIFE YOU JUST HAVE TO MOVE ON FROM A SITUATION, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND. YOU MAY NOT FORGET RIGHT AWAY, BUT YOU WILL LEARN TO, AND TRY NOT TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AGAIN.
Forgiveness is mostly about releasing resentment, bitterness, and the emotional grip the hurt has on you—for your own peace and freedom, not necessarily for the other person’s benefit. It’s a deliberate choice to stop letting anger control you.
But forgetting the actual events? That’s usually neither realistic nor wise, especially if the harm was significant. Memories don’t just vanish (short of some rare neurological issue), and psychology backs this up: true forgiveness doesn’t erase recall; it changes how the memory feels. The sting fades, the misery lessens, but the facts stay, and that’s often protective.

I love how you put it, ‘to help protect my peace of mind ‘, that very good. Some people think that saying sorry will right every wrong.
