For me, peace of mind! If I have that, I’m happy, calm, and more focused. Peace of mind first, and love and money will follow if it’s what my goals are!
U are correct Teresa

What matters more in life: love, money, or peace of mind?
This is one of those timeless questions with no universal right answer — it depends on your stage of life, values, circumstances, and what you’ve personally experienced. But if we look at patterns from long-term studies, psychology, philosophy, and what people actually report when reflecting deeply (including recent discussions in 2025–2026), a clear hierarchy often emerges for long-term fulfillment.
Quick Verdict from the Evidence
Peace of mind usually ranks highest for sustained well-being and happiness.
Love (deep relationships, connection, belonging) is a very close second — often intertwined with peace.
Money is essential up to a point but ranks third; it enables the others but can’t replace them.
Here’s why, broken down:
Peace of mind (inner calm, low chronic stress, contentment)
This is frequently called priceless because once lost, no amount of the other two fully restores it.
Studies (Harvard Study of Adult Development, ongoing since 1938) show that while good relationships predict health and happiness best, peace of mind — freedom from constant worry, regret, or inner conflict — is what allows people to actually enjoy those relationships and life.
Recent happiness research (e.g., Killingsworth’s work at Penn) finds money reduces stress and boosts satisfaction, but only to the extent it buys control and security — which is basically peace of mind in disguise. Beyond ~$100k–$200k (adjusted for location), extra money doesn’t meaningfully increase daily emotional well-being for most.
In surveys and forums (Reddit, LinkedIn, Quora 2025–2026 threads), a majority (often 60–70%) prioritize peace over money when forced to choose, citing health impacts (stress shortens lifespan), clarity, and the ability to appreciate what you already have.
Stoics, Buddhists, and modern psychologists agree: True peace comes from internal alignment (acceptance, gratitude, low attachment to outcomes), not external fixes. Money can reduce stressors, but chasing it often erodes peace.
Love (relationships, connection, belonging)
This is the strongest predictor of long-term happiness according to the longest happiness study ever (Harvard): “Good relationships keep us happier and healthier. Period.”
Deep love — romantic, familial, friendship — provides purpose, support, vulnerability, and joy that money can’t replicate.
Many people say they’d trade wealth for loving bonds if forced, because isolation feels empty even with riches.
Love often creates peace of mind (feeling secure, seen, valued) and can make money feel less urgent (shared burdens, emotional richness).
But toxic or absent love can destroy peace faster than poverty.
Money
It’s not irrelevant — it’s a tool.
It buys security, options, health care, time freedom, and relief from survival stress — all of which support peace and love.
Research shows higher income correlates with higher life satisfaction (no strict plateau for everyone), and it buffers against life’s blows.
But money alone rarely delivers lasting happiness. Rich people report anxiety, emptiness, or relationship issues just like anyone else if peace/love are missing. “Money can’t buy peace of mind” is a cliché because it’s true — it can rent temporary versions, but not the real thing.

2. Love / Relationships
Meaning, support, joy, belonging
Strongest predictor of lifelong happiness/health

3. Money
Security, options, reduced survival stress

In short: Money buys the conditions for peace and love, but peace of mind lets you actually feel them — and love makes both richer.
Many people chase money first (thinking it solves everything), then realize peace/love matter more — often after burnout, loss, or achieving “enough.” Others prioritize love early and find peace follows. Few regret choosing peace over endless accumulation.
What about you — which one feels most urgent or missing in your life right now? Or has a life event shifted your ranking?
If I had to choose, I’d say peace of mind matters most. 🧘
Money can buy comfort, and love brings joy—but without peace of mind, it’s hard to truly enjoy either of them. When your mind is calm and balanced, you can appreciate love, success, and life itself much more.
Some people chase money, others chase love… but many eventually realize they were really searching for inner peace all along.
So what do you think?
If you had to choose only one—love ❤️, money 💰, or peace of mind 🧠—which would matter most to you?
They all matter in life but if I would place them according to hirachy of importance from my own view, I would put love first, even the Bible says love (charity) is the greatest of the fruits of the spirit.
Second would be peace of mind, you can have money and have no love or peace of mind from your spouse or people around you to enjoy it.
Then third money; in as good as money is important, it is also deceitful and can lead you into ill habits you never want to be involved in or other evil.
For instance a wealthy man seeking for genuine love would want to disguise himself as a poor man because that money could attract the wrong person to him. But when he finds love, he finds peace of mind, knowing that he has found what he was looking for and can now enjoy his life and money.
Peace of mind is generally considered the most vital, as it allows for the enjoyment of life and genuine contentment, which money cannot buy. While money provides necessary security and, for many, contributes to peace of mind, it cannot replace the deep satisfaction of a calm, healthy, and loving existence.

Peace of mind is all we need
