Are luxury cars a sign of wealth or a “depreciating trap”?

It will always be a depreciating trap, but if you can afford it, do what makes you happy, even if it’s temporary. Your decisions are your decisions, whether they are prudent or unwise; everyone makes errors. Learning from the mistakes previously is where the challenge lies for most.

Luxury cars can be a true sign of wealth if easily affordable, but become a depreciating trap when bought on debt or beyond one’s means.

It is not bad to own a luxury if and if your pocket may allow that. Bad again, luxury cars can be real liability. Otherwise big part of it is show off but not being really wealthy. Rich and wealthy keeps on buying assets but very few liabilities which would not drain them alot.

We all know that automobiles start depreciating the minute you drive them off the lot, but luxury vehicles are often a sign of not wealth, but being in debt with huge car payments every month!
