It Starts From Zero, but the Sky’s the Limit

We humans forget our goals very soon. We need someone who always reminds us about what we have promised to do for others and also for ourselves. We usually start with lots of excitement. That is the fuel we need to move up the hill and to battle the problems and obstacles. But, most of us lose the excitement too, and so we slow down after a while, until we completely stop. A project that could change the world, becomes abandoned even before it reaches the middle of the way. Why?

We humans are like that. It is normal. Any system in nature is like that too. Anything in nature has a start, a raise and peak and then a fall, unless it receives loads of extra energy constantly. The boiling water on the stove will stop boiling within a minute if you turn the stove off. In order to keep boiling, it must receive heat constantly. If we don’t inject lots of fresh fuel and energy to the project every day, we will slow down.

If you don’t have someone who gives you the extra energy you need to be motivated, then you are the only one who must do it for yourself. The good news is, most of those who changed the world, have been like you. Not only they didn’t have anyone to push them forward, but they had lots of enemies who did nothing but create new problems and obstacles for them every day. In spite of this, they never stopped. They have been their own biggest motivator.

Your friends will leave you. Your fans forget you and become attracted to something or someone else. Many of those who supported you, will change their minds about you. It is because this journey is too long and not everyone will accompany you to the end. You are the one who must keep motivating yourself. Don’t count on anyone’s help. Count on yourself only!

Never forget that great and real success doesn’t happen overnight. Never forget that it took Apple 42 years to reach $1 trillion in value. But, it only took two more years to get to $2 trillion, because they had passed the hard steps and they could enjoy the excessive profits after that. Most people give up in the first phase, but those who don’t, will enjoy the daily excessive success that keeps coming.

It also took 29 years for Amazon to start from zero and reach $1,013.97 billion net worth today. Let’s keep working harder than yesterday, every day.
