The special light bending properties of a mirror technically make it all the colors on the color spectrum. Or at least I think I heard something like that before.

Mirrors are made with glass with a white backing because white reflects the most light. The silver appearance you see is light being reflected off of the white background and I believe there is a slight green hue to the glass to help reflect the light but not give off too much glare.

A mirror is silvery grey. It reflects that colour coated at the front back. Without it, a mirror is not called a mirror.
