The Secret Is You Still Keep Working Exactly When You Are Disappointed

I don’t know whose quote that is. I searched for it on Google but couldn’t find anything. Maybe it’s not attributed to anyone. However, it has always repeated itself in my mind, perhaps because I’ve always needed to remember it.

I’ve seen many talented and even genius people. Surprisingly, though, almost none of them have surpassed the achievements of most people, even those considered mediocre. They don’t make a difference. They fail to impress anyone with their accomplishments. Doesn’t that suggest that being extremely talented or a genius isn’t necessary to achieve something great? I think it does, because almost all of those who have impressed me with their achievements didn’t appear to be exceptionally talented or genius. They were simply serious. They made silly and amusing mistakes but didn’t give up; they kept trying. They weren’t afraid of making mistakes or being ridiculed by others. They didn’t care about others’ opinions. They only cared about doing what they wanted to do. They continued working even when they were disappointed, alone, hopeless, tired, blamed, broke, sad, and depressed.

I always read and learn about these people. One of them is Elon Musk. We’ve discussed him on this site before, for example, in “Things You Didn’t Know About Elon Musk“.

Today, I stumbled upon a video that made me think of him again. I believe that among all billionaires, he has faced the greatest challenges. I doubt anyone else could have reached his level under those conditions. He got there simply because he kept working even when he was extremely disappointed. He worked while he was crying. But still, he worked…
