Had tons of breakups here and there but the ONE that hurt the most was a guy I was dating and we got serious so I thought… he had another girl on the side with the same name, he denied it for a while, and was a super narcissistic traits that I would have seen a lot sooner. Every time he made an excuse not to come around or if he didn’t answer his phone; my gut told me and sure enough did some digging on Facebook and that’s when I found out his secret life. I was heartbroken and it messed me up for a very long time.
I avoid church due to reasons like that. Those parishioners are like robots you tell what to do.
Sorry to hear that Jenny. I’m glad you found out about him though, better to be hurt and know the truth than to be cheated on and never be someone’s number 1 and not even know it. As for the church that’s not how religious people should act, I don’t know any real god that would turn away or out his people so I think it’s a blessing you got out because sometimes when you’re in something you can’t see stuff until you step out and back. You’re still here to tell the tale and fighting the good fight so good for you! Thank you for sharing
Yes Myriam, it’s really sad it comes down to that. I answer to God not man. Thankfully, I have found a good church home and a great bonus family, and I am forever grateful.
Absolutely Nattela, now looking back and my reality now, I have dated some doozies… all of them taught me a lesson, taught me what I wanted in a man, and how to set my standards. I thank God everyday for my husband, just wish I found him sooner than I did. Yes, I also agree with you 100% that when you step back from any situation, people’s true colors show with any type of relationship; I saw this both with my personal relationships and the situation with the “church.” I have freed away from the hurt and the bitterness. The devil did not win this war.
Yes I have experienced heartbreak more than I care to say
Well I wish you nothing but love for your future! Thank you for sharing
Nattela you’re welcome
Yes, more times than I can count. Bad 1st marriage, losing family members that meant the world to me, After living almost 70 years, there’s been a lot of heartbreaking things in life, but there has been a lot more good than bad.
, after hearing how my grandma feels I can quite imagine, she’s a little older than you but she’s outlived most of her friends at this point. Atleast through it you can say there has been more good than bad. Thank you for sharing ❤️
You guys that have answered so far, I salute your resilience and I’m sorry you have had to suffer those heart breaks. I hope they have made you wiser and stronger! I would put heart break in the category of a gf or wife for me, so i think maybe only once when I was much younger, I was cheated on. But it was definitely for the better!
I agree. Sometimes being cheated on and having your heart broken hurts at the time but if that’s what the person has been doing the truth is always better out than to be toyed around with and taken for granted! Thank you for sharing
I’ve had my heartbroken once from a breakup but my most horrendous heart breaks are from losing pets.
I know exactly what you mean. It’s definitely painful losing a pet, us animal lovers see them as family which some people don’t get… Thank you for sharing
My ex husband. He was my first and only love. Started dating him at 16, married him at 18. Had kids. He left me permanently when I was 32. I won’t go into details as this is on the internet but honestly it broke my heart more than anyone ever has done. I chose to stay single after that. I’m 47 now and decided to focus on other aspects of my life.
I appreciate you even sharing what you have. Even though he probably tore your heart into a million pieces you’ve spent time putting yourself back together. You deserve love and to be loved again. ❤️
“Heartache” yeah, but when you break up with someone are they known as an Ex , for experience?
For me, relationship heartache is nothing compared to that kick in the stomach feeling you get when you lose someone who truly loved you.
Yep! When they were focused on loving you, you were focused elsewhere and when they change how they love you or stop that’s when we realise we messed up a real good thing(talking about myself).
Oh.ok, so myself time from a dishonest wife,, from a unreliable family member, from a unfaithful girlfriend. Also from loosing a business, so many time I’ve been heartbroken
It seems there are many of us who share similar heartbreaks. As long as we never give up it’ll only make us stronger and have more knowledge and wisdom to move onto whatever is next for us. Thank you for sharing

The church I grew up in turned their back on my sisters and I after my parents went through infidelity… found out the pastor stood at the pulpit and told the congregation not to call, text, or have any contact with us…. Thankfully some friends did not agree/abide by the rules set forth. That was a horrible hurt and I have dealt with the bitterness I have endured. I now see that is nothing but a cult, and have nothing to do with them to this day.
