That’s a timeless question. In my view, it’s both, but in different phases:
· Feeling first: Love often starts as an involuntary emotion—a strong attraction, chemistry, or connection you don’t fully control.
· Choice second: Long-term love is sustained by choice. It’s the decision to stay committed, to act with kindness even when you don’t feel like it, and to prioritize someone else’s happiness daily.
So the initial “falling in love” might be a feeling, but staying in love is a conscious choice.
Love can be both but it’s better for it to be a feelings!

Love often begins with an undeniable feeling of attraction, a chemical reaction in the brain that creates a strong desire to be with someone. Over time, love becomes a conscious choice to commit to a person, choosing to stay with them and invest in the relationship.

Alexis you’re welcome
Love usually begins as a feeling — attraction, warmth, excitement, comfort. Those emotions often come naturally and unexpectedly. But to keep love alive, it often becomes a choice — choosing patience, forgiveness, loyalty, and effort even when the feelings fluctuate.
So, many people see it as both:
Feeling: What pulls two people together.
Choice: What keeps them together when challenges come.

It can be both. There are times you love without choosing to, like the love I have for my kids. I didn’t need to choose. I loved them from the start. There are times people choose to love, to commit themselves to a relationship with friends or a spouse.

It is both a feeling and a choice. It is first a feeling then a choice to stick with the person when the feeling isn’t as strong as the initial
