Tell them you don’t want to discuss it but say it in a nice way of course
You’re welcome
I don’t talk about politics at all to anyone, even though I do voice my dislike of Trump here lol. In person, I just tell whoever brings it up that I don’t discuss politics. I do it nicely of course but I let them know I’m not in to political debating. To me, friendships and family relationships are more important than who’s right or wrong about politics!
Well said Teresa.
I like your answer Teresa.
thank you for your feed back i appreciate it ..
You’re so welcome Vanessa
I just tell them I don’t get into politics.
thank you for your response
You’re welcome
You can smoothly shift the topic by saying something like:
“I try to keep things light—have you seen any good movies or shows lately?”
or
“That’s a big topic. Speaking of which, how’s [family/work/hobby] going?”
A polite smile and a quick subject change often work without causing offense.
yes , lol i agree thank you for your response
I would tell them that I do not want to talk about politics because that is something that should remain private. I would also tell them in a way that is nice and pray that they understand my point of view. I also think that one way to ruin any kind of relationship is to talk about politics with anyone.
yes people can get aggressive with it . thank you for your response
I’m interestied, but I’ve been trying to take a break from politics lately it gets overwhelming.
that’s understandable, thank you for your response
