how do you get off the subject of politics when someone starts to talk about it or bring it up?

I don’t talk about politics at all to anyone, even though I do voice my dislike of Trump here lol. In person, I just tell whoever brings it up that I don’t discuss politics. I do it nicely of course but I let them know I’m not in to political debating. To me, friendships and family relationships are more important than who’s right or wrong about politics!
