Make Financial Literacy a Mandatory School Subject
Many young adults finish school without knowing how to budget, save, invest, manage debt, or understand taxes. This lack of financial knowledge leads to poor money decisions, avoidable debt, and long-term financial stress.
In today’s world, financial literacy is just as important as mathematics and English. Students should graduate knowing how to:
• Create and manage a budget
• Understand savings and investments
• Avoid predatory loans and scams
• Build and protect their credit
• Understand basic entrepreneurship and taxation
Education should prepare students for real life — not just exams.
We call on education authorities to introduce structured, age-appropriate financial literacy programs in schools to empower the next generation with practical life skills.
