I am afraid of the ocean. It is a beautiful creation, but it is dangerous at times.Do you remember back in 2012 when we had Hurricane Sandy?I had my aunt who is now deceased, living in Coney Island. My oldest cousin was also living there. They had to go stay with others on higher ground due to that. When they returned to their home, they came back to destruction. They lost the furniture, religious material they kept on shelves in a spare guest room, along with their refrigerator. They had to apply for Fema along with using homeowners insurance to rebuild. Also when I was a child,I would have dreams that I was in a cylinder, and the ocean was on either side.I really don’t know where this fear of it came from, but I remain terrified of this big body of water.
Oh.ok, I’m so sorry for your loss of your aunt. Yes I remember Hurricane Sandy, that was a very bad hurricane.
Actually it’s not the big wide ocean I’m afraid of but. Its the hurricane that’s what I’m afraid of, it’s full of power like nothing on this earth and full of destruction, it’s destroy and kills anything and everything in its Path. But I can understand you.
Thanks for sharing your story Myriam.

Thank you for your response. We rarely get hurricanes here in New York City, but I agree. No matter where you are when a hurricane occurs,it is a horrific storm.Even a tropical wave has the same effect. Also I had a work colleague who said when he was in early adulthood,he and some friends went to Coney Island Luckily they had not reached the boardwalk yet.One of the friends saw huge waves coming over the boardwalk. It terrified them and they ran towards the train, got in and went home.It was a storm from the sea that caused that.Storms really can make the ocean angry.
