I once nearly drowned in Lake Windermere.
Back in 1998, I was working at a residential school in Cumbria and had agreed to act as caretaker and security for the company’s shore-side camp for the weekend. After being shown around the site – complete with tents, canoes, kayaks, and cooking facilities – my wife, baby son and I were left to look after things until Sunday evening.
I rode on the back of a carabao together with my siblings back then when we were young going down the river we all slide to the head of the carabao and fell off to the water🤣🤣🤣hahaha.
It turns out getting on a horse. The horse ended up taking a deep breath when the saddle was being applied and when I was riding the horse, the saddle was loose and fell to the side and I fell off. I landed an inch away from a rock beside my head. I wasn’t injured, but I sure was shook up.
Wow, good answer! My sister’s been thrown off a few horses and has wound up in hospital several times with nasty looking injuries. Horses are just too dangerous and unpredictable for me!
I finally got up enough nerves, to ride around the block on a motorcycle.
Did you enjoy it?
Actually, I did enjoy the brief ride! The wind against my face felt good! I don’t think I could do it again. LOL

Wow, that’s something I don’t hear often!! 🙂
