I usually dont speak up. I am afraid that someone will be combative with me if i do. Then they will attack me by trying to start an argument.
I really should stand up for myself. This one place I used to work at, a fellow colleague was so mean to me in front of the whole department and no one even stood up for me. I should have stood up for myself but no one else that was a senior within earshot stood up for me either. With the harrassment I recieved there, I should have filed a lawsuit. I was encouraged to by others in the company but I didnt do it. Needless to say, I dont work there anymore.
I call that being a non confrontational person and I’m glad you got out of that place.
It is sad people have to do that kind of thing to others to make them feel good or be in control.
Yes, I am glad I am not there anymore, too.
I’m sorry boo it must’ve sucked
I may let it slide a time or two in order to avoid any drama but after that I voice my opinion and feelings. If the problem continues to happen with the same person, I walk away and get them out of my life with no future contact.
I can understand that very much I can be very non confrontational at times… thank you Carole I love you!
Love you too.
Great advice.
Speaking up is something I do.It is about self defense and self respect. The party who does wrong has to be told that it is not okay, and that they need to think before acting, and to watch the things they say to others. In my early years,I was easy to pick on and push around, but as I got older I learned to defend myself at all costs.I had been in an abusive relationship, and I stood up to the person involved.I let them know that I was no one to be intimidated just for approval, and despite that, they still tried because they felt they had the right to have the upper hand.Getting law enforcement involved was what finally put an end to that.No one has the right to intimidate or abuse anyone, and also no one should ever be told not to defend themselves against those who don’t have your best interest at heart.
Very well said I love that! You got this!
Thank you for your response.
Yes, absolutely! Especially in these times that everyone is short staffed and no one wants to work. I have stated my mind a couple times this week; I am done with coworkers taking advantage of my “free” day to use for their benefit, BUT lord forbid, they have to help when it is needed on their “free” day.
I know the feeling all too well. Keep going sweetheart you are strong.
Maybe, I shouldn’t, but, Yes, I will speak up, if I feel taken advantage of. Thankfully, I have never been abused.
That’s awesome boo
I prefer not to speak, as I dont have the courage to do so due to economic situation.
Aww I kind of understand where you are coming from but you can always stand up for yourself.
I do now but it took me 50 years to get past it and have a voice to stop it. Its takes an inner strenght to do it with out loosing it.
You cannot be over 50 if you are share the secret lol and you know what it’s never to late to learn right?
Most of the time yes… but it depends on the situation. Sometimes it’s not worth the headache. I just let God deal with some people!
Absolutely I give that answer an Amen!
I will speak up for myself I won’t allow anyone to speak to me any kind of way without letting them know that it is not appreciated.
I love you strength my darling!!
Thank you
Do I speak up? LOL, well everyone I know has always told me that they love me because I am brutally honest. I think, that, yes, I am honest to a fault…. I do not like to lie and if I am taken advantage of or abused, you better believe that I am going to speak up. BTW, I know many of you probably think wow she must be a B@#$% lol. I am not brutally honest in the way some of you may think. I just tell people the truth and that to many is brutal. I do not see a point in going around the truth with a friendly lie because that does not make me a friend. Any thoughts? And of course I know how to be empathetic so please don’t think I go around beating people with cruel truths. LOL
I agree with you and have been there I love your transparency and it’s important to speak up for ourselves many people can’t so I tend to step in without overstepping any boundaries unless push comes to shove lol
I have been taken advantage of and abused so many times that I sometimes don’t even recognize when it is happening until much later. If I do see it, I have spoken up, but it really hasn’t helped me much. I seem to have sucker on my forehead.
It’s kind of like a bottle of champagne you up pop the cork and it explodes its important to voice your feelings sometimes in ordrr to not explode when you’ve reached your limit because boy do people often test it.

Omg yay thank you!!!
