Do Americans not like to say goodbye when ending a call?

I only ask this in observation of American life portrayed in movies and TV shows! When characters are on the phone, they hardly say bye before hanging up. Is this a thing?

That’s only on TV real life most people say good bye and some don’t like to say good bye, but for the most part they do.

Yeah, some do believe that, but usually when saying goodbye most don’t intend for it to be forever it just feels that way to some people and your welcome Kevin.
