No, I don’t but I used to somewhat. My mum and her generation swore by these types of superstitions and often, we as children would be afraid to to go against them. Do not walk under ladders because its bad luck….no, maybe because something may fall on you! lol
Or, if you spill salt anywhere you should throw some over your shoulder into the devils eyes! As I write this, I wonder at the FEAR instilled in us, me personally, stemming from either Caribbean/African culture or religion…Great question sis!
“Old wives’ tales” are traditional beliefs, often passed down through generations, that are typically based on folklore or anecdotal wisdom rather than scientific evidence. They often involve advice or explanations for various aspects of life, health, or nature.
1. “Don’t go outside with wet hair, or you’ll catch a cold.”
2. “Eating carrots improves your eyesight.”
3. “Breaking a mirror brings seven years of bad luck.”
4. “If your palm itches, you’ll receive money.”
5. “Chewing gum takes seven years to digest if swallowed.”
6. “Knocking on wood brings good luck.”
These are often cultural or regional and are passed down informally.
I use to, but not anymore.
Same. I did a few when I was pregnant… they lied.
Yes, they have lied about so much!
Superstition do happen in real life, one time and again. It affects you if you decide to have a strong dread in them. I don’t strongly believe in them.
Thank you for your answer , Hillary. Very good point.
I heard them much of my life, but I had no interest in listening to or living by them.
Same. Thank you for answering, Myriam.

I totally agree
