That’s a hard one for me. When I met my husband for the first time in person (we met on eHarmony) I had a feeling I would marry him… “falling in love” and “lusting in love” are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS…our relationship took some blows early on and I even got cold feet before our wedding… I was ready to bolt… NO ONE has ever tried to fight for me like my husband did… bless him… my answered prayer on so many levels.
We celebrated our 6 year dating anniversary weekend before V-day and will be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary in September.
He loves me even on my worst day, and vice versa. He gets on my dang nerves and I am a lot worse lol BUT I love him anyways. Marriage and relationships take A LOT of work…movies LIE!
No, I do not believe in love at first sight. I see love as a seed that must be planted first by acts of trust, respect, and open honest communication. Attraction and desire may capture your interest at the beginning, but true love must develop and grow by personal actions.
Good answer, thank you.
No there is no such thing as love at first sight. What you feel at first glance is a strong attraction. You have to question that what do you love? You don’t know who they are so how do you love them?
Good point.
Call me a hopeless romantic…. I believe in love at first sight. I have friends who met someone and that was it. They just knew they were the one and those friends of mine are still together to this day after 25+ years of marriage.
Of course a deeper love grows and strengthens as the years dole out trials and tribulations that need to be navigated together.
Not everyone gets a Cinderella story but I know many who have.
I have heard stories like that. Even my own Dad told me once that he fell for my Mom the first time he saw her. They were married until he died. I haven’t experienced it myself though.

You’re right. No matter how you fall in love, it takes work and strong commitment to hold on through the hard times. This year will be my 30th anniversary with my husband.
