Someone offers you the opportunity to make a stranger’s family’s dreams come true by donating to them (in your name) a home that is paid off with a trust set up to pay all the bills for 50 years plus $100,000 cash a year for 25 years ~OR~ You can have it for you and your family but the deal would be the home is paid off, the bills paid for 75 years, $100,000 cash a year for the rest of your lives. BUT the other family would never know what they could have had and you would never know who the other family is BUT you would know their sad story and be updated on how they are doing only when things are going bad and you can never sell the home
Which would you choose?
I wouldn’t choose either to be honest because to me this is an unfair question
Allow me to further elaborate on what I mean by unfair I don’t think you took into consideration that fact that what if the on chosen to make this decision was also in a bad situation I know it’s better to be selfless but that’s hard to do when you’re down and out too and also if you did make the choice for yourself you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the comforts of all that would bring being constantly reminded of the family who weren’t afforded the opportunity to be gifted with such a blessing. Why didn’t you make a third choice where maybe you would be given a lump sum of money instead that you have to share with them or with so many other families or the gift would have to given back if that didn’t happen after so much time that way there is no one left behind.
I did take this into consideration and I chose not to put a third option in there because I was not offered a third option when I was offered something along these lines the other day (it was a scam of course just trying to get my money but thankfully I don’t have any other wise I probably would have given it to them) but none the less it got me thinking about what other people would do if they were offered something similar…. believe me I tried so hard to take that third offer that wasn’t offered and they would not accept giving 2/3rds of what they were going to give me to the 2 other people instead they wanted me to send someone I don’t know $200 and I would have gotten $10,000 that was also about when I realized it was a scam and just ended my conversation with them and blocked and reported them anyway again it just got me curious about if
it was actually a real offer and not just a scam and you had no other choice but to choose one or the other which would other people choose and their usually is that 3rd unsaid offer of just doing nothing and walking away which honestly you have ultimately the same reaction I had since I walked away from the deal feeling it was very unfair
Wow I had no I deal that was a real-life situation I thought that you made it up.
It’s crazy the things that people will do to scam i can only imagine what else they do and can only hope people don’t fall for them

I can respect that you feel it is unfair and I am sorry if I have made you feel any negative type of way with my question…. To me I feel it is a easy answer to give to the strangers family because the reward for helping lift up humanity is so much better than just helping yourself even if that means I have to suffer a little bit more in the beginning because I am a firm believer in karma and believe that it will come back to me eventually and when I need it the most…
