Is it Right to defend, to take up for friends even when they’re wrong?

I would not defend them if they are wrong.They would continue with the same behaviour expecting me to defend them again. If they are wrong they are wrong I would  tell them straight away

No, It not ok to defend a friend when they are wrong and if you do what does that say about you and your character. This shouldn’t even be a question to answer because it should be obvious that the right thing to do would be not to defend someone who is in the wrong period end of subject.

I can not. If they are wrong, it is my duty as a friend to say so.

If you defend a wrong in a friend, then there isn’t true friendship.

It’s usually good to always defend for a friend, to show him how loyal I am to him/her, but in some cases, definitely not in this situation like this when he’s now on the wrong side, cause it might make him end up not growing up, and wouldn’t let him know where he really stand, so I guess have to tell him to just figure things out, to straighten up and fix the things that he did wrong, and he’ll be all set, especially he’s a grown-up, and he surely knows the right from wrong. But I’ll not leave him/her for good, just like that. I just want him to be mature enough.

Maybe not defend them, showing them respect and loyalty yes but if they are a true friend they may appreciate being shown that they are in the wrong? That is a difficult one.

If you continue to defend your friend when he is wrong. He will continue to do  wrong things. As a true friend you need to tell him the truth. Even if it hurts.
