Honestly, never! Children should have the confidence that they’re parents will be there for them no matter what, not taking advantage of them in an “only when in need” or “every time when in trouble,” but when it really counts.
Parenting doesn’t stop just because a child becomes of legal age to be held accountable for their own actions, legally. That’s one of the most critical times in children’s lives where they need their parents! They’ve already learned the basics: how to feed themselves, bathe themselves, use the toilet, how to treat a “boo boo,” and so forth.
Stepping out into the world alone can be and is extremely terrifying for most adult teens. All they have is an idea about the real world. There’s still the part where they must actually experience it, which can take some time as well.
Parenting is a continuous journey throughout their lifetime. Many people have the whole idea of parenting seriously mixed up these days. But hey, there isn’t much you can do when people are unwilling to listen due to their own thoughts of having things figured out already.
Besides, when does a parent actually and truly lose their title?
