I didn’t know that you can simply breath in and out and your eyes wouldn’t water that’s different. My way is to place onion in a bowl of cold water and then chop it placing the chopped pieces back in the water as you go that will keep your eyes from watering.
I like that technique. I need to try it.

But I’m so use to doing it my way that I don’t cry cutting my onions.
Not really David if you rinse and then chop up quick enough, you’re likely to only have to rinse once well depends I guess it depends on how many onions you have to dice anyway it worked for me just wanted to add it as a possibility.
Jacqueline, your comment is well added, I will try your technique. But really I’m so use to doing it my way that I don’t cry when cutting the onions. I guess there so much things we learn working in a kitchen in a restaurant. Your way sounds good.
