I am pretty good at DIY. I had to be. I was divorced with a son I had no help from my ex and I bought an old house that needed lots of repairs, most of which I did myself. Thankfully my life is easier now but I am proud to have been able to make a decent home and provide for my son. Those were difficult years but some of the happiest and most rewarding years of my life.
Most DIY’s I am good at haven’t come across any I got stuck on trying to figure out.

I do well with the basics! I’m good at painting, filling holes, chaulking. I can put up shelves and curtain poles and the like (even though drilling holes gives me massive anxiety 😅)
Im great at flat pack. The hardest things I’ve built, and at some points during the process doubted myself a little, are my wooden garden shed and a large wooden swing and slide set. I’m always a little proud that I got them finished successfully and that they are still standing solid and in use!

I’ve built simple flat pack furniture and have made little craft things with my daughter and son. I like to decorate myself and don’t always know what I’m doing but it turns out ok! I’ve put lots of photos up and hanging things.
