How old were you when the internet first came out?

I have heard that the Internet was being built in the 1930s,during World WarII.I also saw a documentary where Hedy Lamar actually helped pioneer the Internet, although it was being done to end that war.I heard a lot about the Internet from my late dad. He told me to get online.I was a young adult.
