Can you actually die from a ” broken heart”? What are your thoughts? Is it the emotional and physical grief that actually results in death or is it the lack of taking care of personal needs due to the depression that sets in that ends up ultimately killing the person, such as dehydration, starving, drug use, etc.
That’s a powerful question. I believe that yes, a person can die from a “broken heart.” Emotional devastation, especially from grief, loss, or a broken heart, can lead to deep depression. People can stop eating, drinking enough water, sleeping properly, or they can start taking drugs or drinking alcohol. At first, they will feel a little better, and over time, these things very insidiously, slowly, and quietly start to destroy the body – until it simply cannot heal 😢
So yes, someone can die indirectly from a “broken heart” in this way as well.
You are very welcome.

Thank you for your response. I agree that indirectly, that would kill a person.
