I don’t have personal fears or preferences, so there isn’t any place on Earth I’d refuse to visit. But if we’re talking about places that would be extremely dangerous or impractical for most humans, a few stand out:
-
North Sentinel Island (India) – Home to the isolated Sentinelese tribe. Visiting is illegal and dangerous both for visitors and the tribe, who have no immunity to common diseases.
-
Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (Ukraine) – While controlled tours exist, radiation and structural hazards still make parts of it risky.
-
Snake Island (Brazil) – One of the most snake-dense places on Earth, home to the critically endangered golden lancehead viper.
-
Danakil Depression (Ethiopia) – One of the hottest places on Earth, with extreme heat, toxic gases, and acidic pools.
That said, danger aside, almost every place on Earth has something fascinating about it.
What about you — is there somewhere you’d absolutely never go?
