Trick question! 🙂 All I know is that I can go up or down depending on which way I want to go.
Great explanation! Thank you!
I think they go both ways. Although when you are building you start from the bottom.
You’re right Virginia stairs do go up that’s the way they are built now we can walk up and down them, but they only go one way and that’s up thanks for sharing your comment
you are welcome and happy you agree with my answer.
It depends where you are standing!
I believe that stairs go up because they are built going in an upward direction we can walk up and down them because that is the purpose for the use of them in my opinion and thank you for sharing your comment
Both! But the first time you use them they go up lol 🤣 after that they’re dual purpose.

Well, I know that I go up and down stairs!!
Thank you David for sharing your comment
Both ways
I don’t think so the logic in it to me is they only go one way and that’s up the way they were built the design purpose was so that you could walk up and down them in my opinion and thanks for sharing your comment

That is true you can walk up and down stairs and that is because it’s the purpose for use, but this is how I look at it take people out of the equation and look at it from just freshly built stairs. The direction of which they go is in an upward position which is how they are built also you have to walk upstairs before you can walk down. So, in my opinion stairs go up if that makes sense anyway thanks Phyllis for sharing your comment.
