I would not lie for them and would explain that I value my freedom and would not want to be an accessory to anything that they are trying to get away from.

I tend to stay out of other people’s business. So no I would not lie. If they have done something wrong it is for them to live with it. I would not turn my back on someone, I just would not lie for them

No, I wouldn’t lie for a friend and if they were upset about it then they weren’t a friend to begin with! I try not to put myself in situations that aren’t my business or don’t involve me, I don’t want to be in the middle of it and I hate drama.
