The rarest blood type in the world is Rh-null, often referred to as the “golden blood”. It lacks all 61 possible antigens in the Rh system, making it extremely rare — only about 1 in 6 million people have it. Due to its universal compatibility within the Rh system, it’s in high demand for transfusions, but it must be used very sparingly because so few donors exist.
In terms of the more common ABO and Rh blood groups, AB-negative (AB-) is the rarest, found in only about 1% of the global population.
The rarest blood type is AB-negative (AB-). It’s found in less than 1% of the global population, with estimates around 0.6% in the U.S., based on data from the American Red Cross. The rarity comes from the combo of the AB blood group (already uncommon) and the negative Rh factor, which only about 15% of people lack. It’s super valuable for transfusions since AB- folks can only receive AB- blood, though their plasma can be donated to anyone.
C RH – Null
Gina you are correct. Thanks for participating.
Rh- null
It’s very rare
You do know that really no one knows and they are all going to Google your question. It’s not a thing we learn in school the Rarest Blood Type. I didn’t really see the point of this question. Anyway I won’t have time to research on Google. Your so welcome Alexis 😘💕
The rarest blood type is AB negative. It’s super rare and only found in less than 1% of people!
That is the point Alex. There is no such blood group as Rh. Is only rhesus factor abbreviated as such.
Hillary thanks for letting me know.
Uhm??? I have no idea you have to be a Scientist to know this question or to even ask this question and I’m not a scientist and I don’t have time in a day to Google it. I don’t think anyone in here LuckScout is a scientist to know this question why all are going to Google it.
True David.. it is Rh-null
The answer is (c) Rh-Null
Jacqueline you are correct. Thanks for participating.
You’re welcome Alexis
I rarely heard people say that, they have A. Common one are AB, O+ve and O-ve
Hillary, I understand. I have never heard of anyone having RH. So I probably would have guessed at this one as being the answer. All others I have heard of or know people having it. Thanks for participating.

Alexander you are correct. Thanks for your response.
