I grew up listening to my Mother and her Sister’s enforce such folk lore into our lives, it’s quite entertaining. Makes a great conversation piece as well. “If I sweep under your feet, you will never be married” she would say. Or my favorite, I can’t help myself from still saying is if you drop the broom “you have company coming” and I had to ask my Daddy, who claims there all just ol wives tales. Isn’t it something?
