The greatest challenges facing this generation include climate change, economic instability, and a mental health crisis. Climate change poses an existential threat, with its effects becoming increasingly apparent. This is coupled with economic instability, characterized by high costs of living and job insecurity, which makes financial stability difficult to achieve. These pressures, combined with constant digital connectivity and social comparison, have contributed to a significant rise in mental health issues. To make a difference, individuals can take small but impactful actions: reducing one’s carbon footprint and advocating for environmental policies to combat climate change; supporting local businesses and becoming financially literate to address economic issues; and practicing self-care while being an active, empathetic ally to friends and family to combat the mental health crisis.
