The last Tsar of Russia was Nicholas II (Nikolai Alexandrovich Romanov). He ruled from 1894 until his abdication in 1917 during the February Revolution, which ended centuries of imperial rule.
His reign was marked by political upheaval, military defeats (including in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I), and social unrest. After his abdication, he and his family were arrested and eventually executed by Bolshevik forces in July 1918 in Yekaterinburg.
Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra, and their five children are often remembered both for their tragic fate and for the symbolic end of the Romanov dynasty. 🏛️👑
